Bienvenidos a Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Below are some of our favorite things to do in Buenos Aires
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new.
The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires.
The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
Mercado San Telmo
Buenos Aires is famous for its many open air weekend markets, but of them all, the San Telmo Market is the most popular.
It spans more than 10 blocks every Sunday afternoon, selling knick-knacks, handicrafts and antiques.
There are street performers and street food and massive crowds.
It’s a must-see in Buenos Aires!

While in San Telmo, stop at Atis bar - you won't regret it!
Obelisco y 9 de Julio
The most famous landmark of the city and perhaps the symbol of the city is the Obelisco. It was built in 1936 as a monument to the 400th anniversary of the city of Buenos Aires.

The Obelisco is located in the middle of the widest street with 16 avenues, 9 de Julio.

In front of the Obelisco, you will also find two large letters “BA” decorated with flowers. A nice place to take a picture. Go early in the morning to be able to take a photo without many people.
Teatro Colon
One of the buildings that will trigger your interest will be Teatro Colon. It’s located near the Obelisco. Teatro Colon is an opera house that opened in 1908 and rumored as one of the best opera houses in the world. The acoustic is magnificent they say. The Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires is truly, a wonderful experience.

You can book your tickets in advance and enjoy a beautiful night out!
El Caminito - La Boca
Enjoy the colorful houses in Caminito and see how local painters bring their area to life on a white canvas.
Caminito is located in the neighborhood “La Boca”. La Boca was in the mid-19th century the home of Spanish and Italian immigrants. The colorful houses came from the leftovers of paintings that they could get.
Some say that the Tango was first danced here between two men. You will see some Tango shows while having lunch in one of the bars.

You can visit the houses for free in La Boca. Enter the galleries where you see all the shops and take the stairs up. This is how you can see how life before was and where they lived.
Plaza de Mayo
Plaza de Mayo is one of the most significant sites in Argentina. The Casa Rosada perched at the plaza's eastern tip, holds the official office of the Argentine president.

Plaza de Mayo is located in Microcentro in the neighborhood of Monserrat, just over half a mile from Puerto Madero. Plaza de Mayo can be visited at any time, as it never closes. Entry to the plaza is free.
